Almost threw this away the other day. I thought maybe I'd clean it a bit and when I did some circles around the outer edge appeared. I soaked in olive oil and picked off all the dirt I dare try. I have searched and searched but I cannot find anything like it. Can anyone help me out with an id or let me know who I could send a photo to for a possible ID??? Thanks in advance.

Thank you cw909... The back isn't ledgible and the post is broken off of it. This was found at an old two-story log cabin and the story behind the button may be the treasure. I've found other civil war era stuff there, all Union stuff. I have never seen a button made of this type of material. It is fairly heavy, not lead, but not a light button. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
