I found 3 of these buttons within feet of each other but haven't been able to find anything about them on the web. The best I can tell is it says "The Flyer" with a picture of a train. I also found this piece of iron. I first thought it was a cannon ball until I pulled it out of the hole. It weighs approximately 6 lbs. This is my first post as I am a new member so I apologize in advance if it isn't posted correctly.

Welcome to Treasurenet! And yes, you did a fine job in posting them.
The buttons are from vintage work clothes, commonly overalls, similar to the ones at the link below. By the back it looks like they were the rivet type, shown at the bottom left:

Thank you for the info I was beginning to wonder if it even was a button from rust on the back.

Possibly a flyball from a hit & miss engine governor.

Could be. It's hard to tell in the pic but the top almost looks like a screw in cap and it has a slit across it like for a big flat head screw driver. The bottom or small end also has a slit across it. Do you think it would help to clean with electrolysis? I was hesitant because if it is a cap on top I have no idea what would be inside.

Looks like a pear weight from an old scale.

Wow that looks pretty close to what I've got. I'd say that could be it. I just put it in the electrolysis tank. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow. Thanks for all your help guys.
