I found this button at a torn down house spot, I've never seen one like this before and I'm hoping one of you button experts might know what it is. I kinda think it might be a railroad uniform button but really don't know. Thanks everyone.

I am by no means an expert but I'm thinking the the first two letters might be PO for Post Office.

Absolutely! -I'd added some info above as you were replying, re: start date 1868, for the sake of knowing the earliest it could be.
