Tried to look into this a bit, but didn't find anything. Can you make out what is stamped on the back of the button in pic on previous thread?

UK Finds Database - - - UKDFD

This is close but not close enough, however it does push back my guess to mid-19th C. They are not a common find & I like them

Thanks for the help guys, it does have some writing on the back but I haven't been able to make it out. Im gonna look at some more and see if I can pick some more dirt off the back.

success! I was able to get the back clean enough to read that it says "Best quality London" the button is 13.12mm in diameter.
