Hi friends. I recently gained permission to a property I knew had an old home site on it. I spent a whole lunch hour looking for the site with no luck. That afternoon I went back to the map, was working from memory, and got a better idea on location. Well I found that spot and began the hunt. I located an 08 Indian and a button before dark.

On my way back to the car, 300 plus yards away, I got a hit on a little knoll, it was a wedding band. A few feet away, a thimble. Anyways I felt I had a site. I went home and checked my 1875 maps and there was nothing shown. I started my hunt the following day and started picking flat buttons. I worked the site slow and meticulously.

I am about at the end of the searching here and pulled 33 flat buttons, all sizes and materials.

I now have a smaller Bucket list with me being able to check off a 1852 III CENTER and it's a beauty!!! The 1840 large is nice too!

If somebody can figure out what is on the badge I would enjoy knowing.

Keep Swinging

For the badge use a little baby powder it should
Help.

Great finds and thanks for sharing. You've helped me figure out what I'm doing tomorrow, it was between MD or deer hunting. MD it is!!!

Now that rocks....... :icon_thumleft:

You got a couple sweet coins there with the LC and 3 center!

Very nice hunt with the silver and the LC, along with all the buttons and what looks like a little silver ring. What's the item with the hanger beside the badge?

What a great hunt! The 3 center is still on my bucket list.

I hope you are able to find a lot more at this site!

I am guessing was a slide for a necklace, but not sure. The loop seems large though for that. There are no other markings on it. That is a little silver ring, a child's I'm guessing, with a little heart made of brass? Thanks and Keep Swinging!

Wow. I'd say you definitely found the site! They must have been there quite some time to have worn out 3 thimbles. Nice finds.

I like the 3 cent silver, an odd coin, and a cool find. I happened to get one myself, and kind of keep track of the ones found...not too many are.

Congrats, I wouldn't write that site off just yet.

That's some good finds, lots of buttons, you might get a nice marked one down the line if you keep at it at that site

sounds more like a button hill rather than a hole

It was actually this find on the left I was referring to. Cool ring
