Hi Gang,

Found this today in a local park 7 inches down next to a palm tree. I cannot make out the back writing, but it is there, I need to try to clean it up a little bit. The button is 7/8 of an inch across. Anyone tell me what it is, or anyone with better eyes then me make out the back?

Thanks...

19th century equestrian / steeplechase sporting button, probably of British manufacture. Although designs of this sort were common in the mid 1800's, similar buttons were still being made in the early 1900's.

If you could clean or soak the button and feel comfortable about it... you may get a read on that back mark... I have a good list of british marks too and we should be able to figure something out...
