Finally after lots of research I tried out a new area in the Charleston Low country. Heavy activity pre-Rev war and on. The first one I am familiar with, the back has double quilt and is blank on front. The second I know is from an old European gold blazer, year?? The 3rd one is the one I am most curious about. I have not seen one from this area before with the markings it has on front. There is nothing on back. Forth one has EA & Sons Fine Silver Plated on back but nothing on front that I can see.

Thanks

Hi; Going from Right to Left on the Frontal Picture. The 1st one is a 1 Piece Button. 1700's - 1820. 2nd one I believe is a 2 Piece from the 1820's era. 3rd one is Modern turn of the Century 1880 - 1920's although I could be wrong. 4th one I'm not sure as I can't see the design on the front ok. Good Luck. PEACE:RONB

The "EA"may stand for Edward Armfield of Birmingham, England. Listed as a button maker from 1805-1860 on Bath row and later 9 Newhall St. He advertised gilt and plated buttons particularly military, naval, club and livery and was in business until 1895 when the firm changed to St. Pauls Works. Their is a listing for E. Armfield & Son, Birmingham.
