Button help

I have these two buttons.I think are made of pewter.One is a flower with 6 points the other has 6 dots.So does the number 6 have any meaning and what would be the date ?

I believe these are from the early 1800's, often enough just called "flower buttons". Googling "early 1800's flower buttons" I find examples that have four, five and seven pedals as well, so I think it's coincidence that each of your finds has six petals/dots.
