My knowledge is very limited when it comes to identifying buttons. But I'm slowly trying to learn. I dug this in a field. It's obviously a button, very simple, nothing fancy at all. No visible markings. I'm not expecting an exact ID, I'd just appreciate it if someone could roughly date it. I'd like to know when they stopped using this style of button. Thanks.

I am no button expert but i can tell it looks like a typical civilian flat button. I would say early to mid 1800's.

It looks like a dirty tombac type, used between 1780-1810s
