I found these two buttons within the last week. Both were found in CW areas or areas where other CW items were found.
Can anyone ID either of these pieces?
Thank you,
MM

*18mm flat button with back mark "Imperial -Orange Gilt" on it. The unusual thing about this one is it looks like someones initials (?) possibly on the back too. It has the letters "J.H." , but they are upside-down compared to the back mark.
Does anyone know the approx. age of this button?

*A decorative brass button with no back mark. Civilian? Age?

Possibly one of these:

Joseph Harvey, Birmingham, England, early 1800's.

John Hopkins, Birmingham, England, early 1800's.

John Hunter, London, England, c. 1780-1817

Wow! Thank you guys for that info. It's older than I thought.
I'll labeled it a Joseph Harvey circa 1803-1815 for now then, unless something else pops up.
Thanks so much for the help. No wonder there were so many button makers back then. People lost a ton of buttons in those days. Maybe a better thread should have been looked into. ;D
