Button found. Help id. Hoping its Rev War?

Hello everyone!

I found a button, or what I think is a button, this morning very close to where I found a musket ball recently. The general area is known for a Revolutionary War Battle. Does this button look familiar to anyone? It was about 6 inches down on the side of a hill, not that helps with the ID.

I have measured the button with calipers (decimal inches) and weighed it as grains and grams. It looks like the "back ring" is soldered on. All the measurements are in the photo. Does anyone have any clue about this button? Thanks for any and all help with this ID.

That. Deffinantly looks like a button shank but it's odd shaped it looks like it might of had glass around it? Or some other material.

I agree... I think it probably is a vintage top bottle closure. Anyone know the range of years this style comes from? Does that style have a name?

Thanks for all your help!
