Here is a set of 11 tremendously old buttons of the Governor General's Foot Guards, the GGFG of the Canadian Army. This pattern with a Victorian crown and the numeral 1 in the center went into use only 5 years after confederation and were obsolete by 1898, making them at the very least 118 years old, at the most, 144 years. That's old for obtainable Canadian militaria. They are 25mm and 18mm buttons in excellent condition for their age. They are made by Smith and Wright in Birmingham with the exception of the bottom right button, made by C. & J. Webb and Co. in London. The two smaller ones are made one by each company.
