Freeze plug for what? whats a rupture disc?

Many years ago, I worked as a mechanic for Kelly Springfield. It seems to me, that I vaguely remember some front end parts or suspension parts made by Moog that had caps on them that looked similar to your item. ..just can't remember exactly what it was on at the moment.

could be a cap from a 85 HP Evinrude 85993M..

Engine Freeze plugs come in many different sizes. Yours looks similar to a pressure rupture disc but probably too thick.
