attached are pics of a couple buttons a buddy of mine recently found, need some help on id'ing them, first is a 2 piece navy button button back is missing, is it pre or post civil wa?r, and the second is a cuff size 2 piece eagle button no discernible backmark i cant find this one in any of my books or online, once again pre or post civil war? thanks

i caught that after i posted, i have a similar button best guess was turn of century blazer button , but it does look a lot like british navy of that time but i may be wrong

look almost identical to the one i have,, i am gona say civ coat button
 

Agreed, not quite right for British Navy but similar.

The other, I guess is a mid 1800s US Patriot or diplomatic Button, the first one I have seen posted on here, so probably fairly scarce.
 

First one is very similar to a British and French 1800s navy Button, but the picture is not clear enough to confirm, no idea about the outher :dontknow:

Nice finds.... but i agree with one of the other members and they look to be from the early 1900s! WTG

The eagle is an early militia button Alberts G1-63
The other is a civilian nay design with a tin back which im guessing is gone now correct?
 

yes james the back is gone, do you have a pic of the milita button?
