button find

hi , i have dug out an old button , all i can say about it is it has a blank face and on the reverse it has small metal loop , is gold in color , it has a crown at the top with the words london gilt around the bottom edge , can anyone help me find out about it , age , who it may of belonged to etc , i have looked through hundreds of images on the web and cant find one like it anywhere , many thanks in advance .

Its circa 1800-40, British Made (London & Crown was the giveaway:laughing7:) Gilt; it was once Gold Plated but all is left is the copper-alloy core. Any Cilivian could have worn it.
 

Nice old 'button ,it may not be worth much $ but it's always nice to dig a piece of history.
