Couldn't stomach the long grass on my own today, so headed to the button field.

First picture shows how it got its name (remembering this is after doing the same field for over 6 years) ie. covering it after every plough.

Spent 4 hours.

First keeper was the cut qrter hammered. First from the field this year & finished on my first Roman from the field as well :) Also I know I'm doing the land well when I suck these tiny hammered out

2 hammered in 3 days by myself is good for this time of year.

Got a coin concreted in stuff, hit with the electrolosis to find out it was just a Geo copper.

I will, still have a couple of days until completion. Then I'm out of land other than the Big Grass Field :P

The cut quarters a great find :o looks like you might get a few more hammered of that field. :icon_sunny:

I wish. We have done it pretty well over the years & only found the odd hammered. Its a poor area, miles from anywhere. The qrter is an indication of how poor the people in this area were.

I never thought I would look forward to doing this field as its one of our worst until the Big Grass one kicked our butts :D
