🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Button-esque coppers

Found these at a 1700s sawmill site. My first thought was button but there is no evidence of a shank. They are copper and the same thickness as a flat button but that lack of shank has me confused. Any ideas?

Will be interested to know once someone ids them, but based on their size I bet they sounded great.
