button & chinese coins (UPDATE: front of coins added)

It's metal, but is it a military button. The back of the button is missing.

Also, I don't anything about chinese coins. Are these old? new? worth anything?

I added the other side of the coin in case someone can tell me any dates on them. thanks,

Re: button & chinese coins

You have several different Chinese Cash Coins here. They look authentic. Can you post a pic of the front sides? I have one similar to yours. Although they are very old, cash coins are quite common. Mine (pic) is considered a rare Lung.

Could we see a better pic of the button? Do you have a Macro lens?

Re: button & chinese coins

I've seen that button here before... I'm thinking non-military unless you can get a clearer picture or tell us what it says, if anything.

Chinese cash coins - yes. A clear macro phoro would be nice instead of a scan... The "probeble" value of the coins is a few bucks each no matter how old they are, it's the rarety that causes more value. How did you come into so many cash-coins?

Re: button & chinese coins

thanks everyone! I use a digital camera. I will re-post the front of the chinese coins on Monday. I will do it in better light. There are still a ton in the lake. I am hunting a 3' x 3' are of a lake fishing spot below a rock ledge. I will hunt it out next week when the weather is better. I don't know how many I will end up with. I have 22 so far.

I don't think the button is military either. Might be just a kid's coat button. The area I found it I also found these two buttons. It would be easier if the back of the button was still there....I'll re-post in better light on Monday.

Re: button & chinese coins

The above Eagle buttons are U.S. Army Great Seal Buttons (Great Seal of the United States). The Army started using them in 1902 and they are still used today...

Re: button & chinese coins (UPDATE: front of coins added)

They appear to be mostly from the Board of Revenue Mint in Peking.
