Found this button in an area that has been around since 1793. It appears to be old. The only marking is either a 1 or I on the back between the button holes. Is this an old button? It is heavy, non-magnetic and I have used the dime as a size reference. Any info would be appreciated. Also should I notify the local historic society about the dinosaur find? (lol)

Probably aluminum or pewter button. I'd guess turn of the century.

Burt

It's too heavy to be aluminum, it does look more like pewter to me. So it is probably old??

The Dinosaur appears to be a pterodactyl....Name's meaning: "Winged finger"

Young Earth Age:

Old Earth Age:
According to old earth scientists, Pterodactyls lived in the late Mesozoic period, about 251 to 65 million years ago
