Button and ????? Civil War or Rev War ??????? Need Help.

A friend of mine found these in a well known Civil war area. Can any one tell us what this is and if they are period .Thanks for the help

The button appears to be a Victorian era thin two piece button. If it is a solid one piece then it is an early 1800s button. Either way not military and neither rev war or civil war
