Button age range help.

Dug this Connecticut two piece Police button and was wondering how old it is? Couldn't find it in the Albert's book. Any ideas?

Thats a cool police button with the deer. I like the old gilding. I dont know the age but it looks like a 2 piece type that was used in the latter half of the 19th century and into the 20th. Waterbury made it. http://www.waterburybutton.com/cart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=16498

Thanks Bigcy, I was hoping to nail a date range. Seems like the 19th/20th century. It reminded me of a Civil War era button.

It could be CW era I think but not sure. It looks like the old mercury guilt.

Here is a 1920's version with less stars and a guilt mix that appears made with less gold when compared to yours. My guess yours is the older version , late 1800's...http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1920s-hartford-connecticut-police-button
