Butterflies & caterpillars.

Butterflies have always amazed me, their beauty, also the fact they are the only creature that as two forms. It really is wonderful to watch them escape the cryslis (sp?). There wings are all crumpled but, after a few mins in the sun their wings spread..

I would appreciate if everyone would post there butterfly & caterpillar pics

The Milkweed Tussock Moth (caterpillar).

The Puss caterpillar. I noticed this critter on my outside cable. Something told me NOT to handle it, glad I didn't now they aren't something one wants to handle, they give off a poison. I got it onto a spoon & took a few pics..so glad I did now.
Strange looking critter.

Very nice. You must have had your camera and tripod set up to capture them settin' still. Everytime I try to get their pics, they fly off.......NGE

NGE, I never use a tripod. Most of the butterflies I take pics of tend to land on me. I think they think I'm a big flower..lol Must also be my perfume.

Muddy, those great pics of Monarchs, they are very pretty.

Hmmmmmmmm.... My wife says I am naturally sweet, that's why yellow jacket wasps sting me, I do not need to attract anything that likes sweet smellin' things, I am anphylactic allergic to their stings, and could die if I don't use my Epi-Pen asap! Then call 911 within 5 minutes or I suffocate. So spritzing myself with extra sweetness aint gonna work That's why I like sunsets, sunrises, landscapes, etc. They can't sneak up on me and zap me.... And when I do flower close-ups, I am far away from camera and tripod, I set the cam for remote timer and runnnnnnnnn about 40 ft. away. You never know what evil lurks in that bud! NGE

NGE, you have to be VERY careful. I am often chased by yellow jackets when collecting the apples & pears out the orchid. They also hang round my Hummingbird feeder, poor little birds can't get any sugar water.
I would hate to stumble into a hive, very scarey situation.
