"Butter knife me up & Slap me silly!" ---
Well, this week has not been the best of weeks but it ended on a pretty good note.
Many of you know; I'll hunt all day for one really old coin! Or, a week for a something worth something.
I've been dedicating myself to "working out" the local courthouse. Surprisingly, there's still
stuff there. All the other VLF swingers have cleaned the top "8 inch down" for me so, there
is not a lot of trash. Over the last couple of days, I've managed to find a few wheats with the oldest I can read being
1915. That Lincoln got thrown in the mix by mistake. I found enough clad and modern Lincolns to turn on my two barrel Tumbler's Tumbler too! I dug the silver plated butter knife at about 12 inches; isn't she a beaut? There are no markings I can find. The Aussie 1982 silver plated copper coin, with 20 on the backside was only down about 3 inches lying beside a clad dime. The little crushed ringcame as a total surprise. I didn't even know I found a ring until I got home! There's a crushed copper top to something and a gold plated pewter jewelry piece of nothing. I was swinging my 12 inch Excelerator today after using my 10.5 SlimLine late yesterday afternoon in the same locale. Let no one fool you; the SlimLine coil is okay by me. The find of the week has to be the 5 mil "1935 Emergency School Tax Token" issued by New Mexico's Bureau of Revenue. Pardon its condition; I didn't want to jack with it too much. I may post better pics of it later. Initially, I thought I'd found myself a half dime as its about the same size; made of bronze!
Thank you for the looky see!
