I recently found this at an old site that included a home and a Civil War camp. It's a bust of "A. Lincoln" that has been broken. I was wondering if anyone might know what it goes to, and it's age. I did find some post war stuff there so realize it may be late. Sorry about the focus on the second picture, I guess the camera liked the flower better than the old junky thing. I hope it's close enough. Thanks...

That's the beast! I hope someone can chime in with an age. I'll do some research and let you know if I turn up anything.

I've found a bunch of similar busts that are identified as coin banks made by Banthrico Inc. They seem to date to at least the 1970's and appear to be some kind of bank giveaway often with the name of the bank on the back. Mine seems awful small for a piggy-bank, but the bottom sure looks like the ones pictured. I'll go ahead and mark this as solved unless more info comes available.

I can't help with the age, but I have a similar one of Thomas Edison, and it's definitely not a bank.
Mine is made of die cast and has a signature of A. Brainerd on it.

Here is a picture of the bottom of one. It doesn't look like they have a slot in the head, but I don't know if they do. It doesn't show up on any pictures online. If you Google "banthrico coin bank bust" you will see many types. There are other manufactures as well. If you don't think it is one of those, what do you think it is? I only have a partial one, and have never seen another.

I thought it wasn't a bank because there was no slot for coins. I hadn't thought of that type of bottom.
I searched "banthrico" on ebay and numerous bust banks show up. Although the small based ones like I have
are shown with a coin slot on the bust part, I think your right about it being a bank.
