Burnsides, Brass, Silver Cuff-link or leather ornamental, & other interesting relics

Went back to the permission today and dug some more burnsides, a big musketball, and 2 nice dropped 3 ringers.
Ended up giving the land-owner the nicest dropped 3-ringer, and the big musketball.
Also buttered him up with a couple quart bags of fresh fish. Gota keep em happy.

Dug a little bit of brass too. Some square nails, a button back "no front, sigh", a strangle L shaped piece of brass, and 2 large rings that blew my ears off. Any ideas on these.??

A nice little silver piece with floral design. Im thinking this is likely 1800s, and at first i thought it was a silver cuff-link, but now im not so sure. It is 2 pieces that are connected in the middle with a tiny round cylindrical piece of silver. Maybe a leather ornamental, a cuff-link, or something else. Any ideas??

Thanks

I like the style of the engraving on the silver piece. Feels like very early 1800's if not late 1700's to me. I can't think of a better guess than cufflink . Nice Finds !

I've found one of those silver thingys, thought they were 1790-1830 period. But my thought process was the same as you, unsure if a cuff-link or leather stud or ?

Congrats on some nice finds
Thank you Trapper!

Thank you Argentium.! Im especially fond of the little silver piece. The design is neat and looks similar to some stuff ive seen on here that was said to have been dug from late 1700's early 1800's homesites.
So that date you mentioned sounds right to me as well. Im leaning towards the cufflink ID.

Thanks Cru.! I was thinking similar time frame. I have to say im leaning towards the cufflink ID. However most i have seen have been the chain style. I do see how it could have worked without the chain.
Another friend of mine told me it was a cufflink. So im kind of thinking it probably was one. I say probably, because most i see posted here had the chain, or at least a ring where a chain could be attached.
Hopefully it is one, because i have seen a lot of nice silver cufflinks with floral engraved designs posted here on tnet, and i have yet to dig one.
So if it is indeed a cuff-link, this would be my first one.

Very nice hunt! And your right about the landowner. We always give them a little something, ether something we found or a box of beer. Depends on the person and there interest. They always seem to appreciate it. Have to keep them happy. Congrats

Could the silver thingee be a collar button?

I have put mine in the cuff-link tray, so I would lean in your direction also. (Or collar stud, like mentioned above)

Good Digs Bone. Hopefully you got your Big coil straightened out or just used the smaller coil today.

I never considered a collar stud , interesting guess !

Nice finds! It always "pays" to include the landowner in the finds. :icon_thumright:

That silver RIVET is an ornamental piece, that likely was functional as well - perhaps was part of a belt?; horse tack? whatever,
it is a great Find! The other relics are great, too! :icon_thumright:

Thanks DS. Yeah, it started workin again. Not sure what happened this morning. I used the 9 inch most of the day, and went back to the 11" in the afternoon.
Today was pretty brutal. Ended up with one fired 3 ringer.. Gota find a new sweet spot.
Hope you made it out today.

Me neither.

Yup, i think the old guy gets excited when we call him and ask him if its ok to come hunt.
