Burl On Under Side On Downed Tree

While walking down hill along side of a creek on my claim I came across this burl. It is baseball size with 14 eye knots.

Great find. My misses is always looking for odd things nature wise. She'd love to find something like that. It'd get a clean and polish and be given a place somewhere inside for sure.

Sandog ... You are so right. Little story behind this. My son and I were walking back down on either side of the creek. It was tough slugging as the willows were so thick combined with dead fall. When I spotted this I yelled out to Jarret to come over here. I thought I could hear over the creek water noise a bit of a grumble something like Why?. As he made his way through the thick willows to where I was he did not see the burl at first. When I pointed it out to him his only words were "Cool Find". The burl was covered in green moss ( I cannot find that picture I took with the moss) and after I cleaned the moss off the grain and colours just popped... I will never sell this and it will go to my son as we were there as a team...
