I'm curious how common this practice of repurposing by burin cutting worked blades ? Pretty sure I read that burin cuts are associated with older cultures and maybe blade/core technology, but confess I don't remember much about the subject. I find stuff that seems to display this technique quite often here in California's North Coast Range, mostly in context of mid-archaic sites.
I wonder if you all find similar things in your neck of the woods? Or what you know about burin cutting more generally?
BTW, not exactly sure what makes a burin cut (technically), so in this instance I'm talking about 'chopped or snapped'- looking edges.
