OK I can't stand it. Clue one: A room it could be. 2nd clue: A gathering of papers. 3rd clue: 50 years old.

Re: BURDIE'S CHALLENGES for Feb.

Can you cover it with rust and dirt and smack it with a plow a few times so it looks more like what I'm used to interpreting?

I like the paper crimper suggestion.

To be different: it's to make an indexing mark for masters on a mimeograph master sheet so the signature master lines up with the copy master when you swap them off the drum.

Re: BURDIE'S CHALLENGES for Feb.

Just a shot in the dark. Could it be some kind of gizzmo for
hanging, measuring, or pasting wall paper ?
or to the other extreme a cutter to mark or trim carpet to fit ?

Re: BURDIE'S CHALLENGES for Feb.

Could be a room??? ??? Wellll, it's not a bed, so forget that room. Living? Nope, doesn't appear to be breathing, so forget that, too. Dining? Noooo. Bath? Doesn't appear wet enough. Mud room? Not dark enough. Office? Library? :-\

You're keeping secrets from us!! >:( Open the top up so we can peek down inside. The thingy on top appears to be mashable down. Which means something fits underneath it onto the curved thingy that you're keeping secret. Does the little square thingy possibly raise up to come in contact with the other two thingys? Are you covering something up with the little square thingy??

Re: BURDIE'S CHALLENGES for Feb.

Would that be the "Pink Pearl?" That would make it a paper crimpy thingy!
