Bullseye 2 mods?

I'm looking for bullseye 2 mods. Depth mods actually. Mods to make it only detect at the tip and not the sides.
Search is not working/unable to find any.

The coil inside the bullseye is wrapped lengthwise along the sides of the tip, not across the "face" at the end of the tip.

For what it's worth, if I get a hit all around the hole, I turn the sensitivity down until it only beeps on one part of the hole, either one side or the bottom. I have developed a "swirling" motion going from top of the hole around and around until i get to the bottom of the hole, and can find what I'm looking for in a second or two, or know if I have to dig deeper.

I'm wearing the rubber around my Bullseye button after about a year now, I am considering replacing the momentary contact button with a sealed pushbutton with a push-on, push-off type. Also, the battery door doesn't push my battery into the contacts tight enough any longer, so I had insert a plastic shim behind the battery to ensure reliable contact. Next modification for me will replacing the push-contacts with a snap-on 9V connector.

Anybody able to compare/contrast the Garrett with the Whites pinpointer? I need to buy something for my wife and might consider the G-brand for that.

Howdy Greg!
I have both a Bullseye 2 and a Pro Pointer. For the money, there ain't nothing
better than the Pro Pointer except the DX-1 inline probe for White's M6/MXT/DFX/V3/V3i
machines. Considering the cost of the Pro Pointer, which is a really good handheld unit,
one might just as well buy the Sun Ray inline probe instead. But the Pro Pointer will
outgun the Bullseye hands down. No question about it. The switch is an on/off type
and you don't need to hold down the button either. It does not have a sensitivity setting,
as it just works the way it is.

Hope that helps answer your question, and yeah, it is my personal opinion, but I just
don't see where the Bullseye can hold a candle to the Pro Pointer. The Sun Ray inline
probe is probably the best, but right on the heels of that particular item is the Pro Pointer.

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

I bought one over a year ago and wore the switch out and also wore down the tip 3/4 of an inch by digging with it in the sand... I liked it so much I bought a brand new one last week. If you have problems picking up the small stud earrings you can detect them off the side of the pointer... this pointer has a light, vibrates, with tone.
