Bullets - looking for info on 3

My guess is that these aren't that old but I was wondering if anyone could help me with the time era? I found a whole mess of them in the same general area and I am trying to get an idea of what might have been going on there -

blackpowder cap and ball type 44 cal bullet (most likely shot from a "modern made" replica gun)-- 45 APC full metal jacket modern copper jacket pistol round -- 45 cal soft lead type semi wad cutter round also modern --I'd say target practice was going on most likely from the looks of it .

I was just agreeing with you as far as the id goes --as well as pointing out that the black powder round was modern most likely * --since it can be either old or new ( old lead tends to oxide --making it whitish colored) and since he was trying to figger out what occured there ---I explained that the "old" cap and ball type bullets --might not be so old * (fired from a replica gun most likely) -- and that someone was most likely target shooting.

I think the mix of old looking (cap and ball) and modern looking bullets might have made him go hummm? -- sometime folks do not think about the fact that "modern " repilca cap and ball guns shoot the same bullets as the real old "cap and ball" guns of long ago -- thankfully lead tends to oxide over time in most soils turning whitish --so it normally its not that hard to tell the newer ones from the old ones --- I tend to try to fill in the "full answer" -- talkative sort that I am.

So the first one might be older... I did find that one a bit away from the others and I did find only the one so it might possibly be earlier. A little more likely than if I found it in the pile I found of the others I suppose.

I would say "yes",aside from the above mentioned possibility of it being fired from a replica type weapon.

Not to be rude but the third bullet is not a 200gr. 45 acp. The 200 grainer is much shorter. I have reloaded hundreds of cast lead 200 grain .45 ACP semi-wadcutter rounds for competition shooting. If #2 is a 230 grainer then #3 would be heavier as it looks to be longer and pure lead. My guess, assuming it is a .45 caliber would be a 250 gr. semi-wadcutter from a .45 Colt revolver. Not to be rude however. Wait , I said that already. M nty
