Plate that is!
Went back again the Civil War camp in Maryland today and the site just keeps on giving more. Including 8 three ringers, a Williams cleaner type 1, with some of its zinc disk still attached, a New York state coat button, and my first Eagle Breast Plate. I've dug 82 bullets (my buddies have dug another 18), 3 buttons and now a breast plate from about a quarter acre lot. When I pulled the breast plate out of the ground It was face down but I was almost certain of what it was before I even turned it over and boy was I excited when I turned it over and saw the eagle.

Here are some finds from a couple other sites I detected this weekend, including a Caterpillar watch fob and a Lords prayer tag.

Also no hunt would be complete without some whats-it's. If anyone has any ideas about them let me know. They're not from the Civil War camp site!

I was thinking it was maybe from a musical instrument because it looks similar to a harmonica reed plate, but all the reeds are the same size. Is it some kind of and intake reed plate?

third whatsit looks like part of a screen door chain to keep it from opening to far. looks like the one I have on my door.

Nice CW Digs! Congrats on the Breast Plate!
