The wide, deep, lube groves tells me it is black powder. Can't tell if it has been through a bore or not.
What is the diameter and weight?

bullet in relation to a dime....as far as the weight, its got some weight to it...i would guess 6-9 ozs....

I think it is a fairly modern handcast bullet and from the comparison to the size of the dime it looks to be about .30 caliber. One of my shooting buddies casts, sizes and lubricates bullets that look similar for use in his .03 Springfield and he has won a few matches shooting them at reduced velocities. Kenley is correct about needing measurements. About 6 to 9 oz. doesn't mean a thing to anyone who knows bullets. Monty
