That's a very rare pointer finger bullet from about 1750! It was made before kids had capguns and had to use their hand, the pointer finger extended representing the barrel of the gun, and the thumb upraised to form a hammer like appendage. Dang, did it ever occur to you that pointer fingers are of different sizes? :laughing7: I'm sorry, couldn't help myself, but just a measurement or two and a photo of different angles would be very helpful. I'll give you a swag. The bullet has been fired and looks to have tumbled. There doesn't appear to be enough patina on it for it to have any age. Patina, however, is not always a fair indicator. For example, if the bullet had been laying in water it would not develope the white patina you find on CW bullets. I would vote for somewhat modern.
