Hello. I need a little help. I hunt for indian artifacts, fossil and just about anything else you can pick up walking around. I was in Western KY this weekend and my 6 year old said "Daddy, I found something". He hands me a fired, 3 ring bullet that hit a soft target, I'm assuming the sand bank. It's a little larger than .50 cal, I'm guessing .54 or so. It has a flat bottom. Is there any way to date the bullet? Any helpp you guys can provide is appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe.... without seeing a picture it would very hard to I.D. your bullet. On the surface it sounds like it could be a civil war period bullet but it could be modern. Post a pic if you can. Tennessee digger
