Bullet--is it Civil War era?

Found this in a creek in Missouri, so it is out of context. Just curious to it's approximate age...

Circumference is 1/2".

Your bullet is an unfired civil war era yankee .44-caliber Sage "Waterproof" bullet for revolvers. Its actual diameter is about .46-inch.

Note: I modified this post only to add the word "yankee." Having said it is a civil war era bullet, I figured it was just a matter of time before somebody would ask "Is it a yankee bullet or Confederate bullet?"
