Hi folks,

Found a couple items that I'd like to see if anyone can ID. The first is a large bullet of lead(?). The diameter of it is about 0.47" and and about 0.56" long. It has a notch/dimple on the tip and a wavy crease around the width. Looks too big to be modern, but I know little on this subject anyway.

The second item looks to me to be a mullet ball or lead shot of some kind. It is flatten and encrusted, so demensions are tough. But, I would estimate it was just under .5" in diameter originally.

Thanks in advance for any help in IDing these.
John

Well, Bomber, since nobody else is going to say anything, I'll give it a shot (no pun intended). At first glance, the first one looked like an old CW era bullet, but with it being only half an inch long, I'd have to guess a pistol bullet. The old muzzleloader types mostly shot round balls and didn't have the rate of twist needed to stabilize a longer bullet, but stranger things have been known to happen. The second one is either a muzzleloader ball or a piece of grapeshot.
