Your bullet is a copper-jacketed one, from the 20th-Century. Copper-jacketed bullets are not made for use in blackpowder firearms. Based on size-comparison in the photo, your bullet seems to be just a little bit more than half the width of a dime, so it is probably for a .38-caliber pistol, but I can't say for certain without a very-precise measurement of its diameter.

TheCannonballGuy is right it looks to be about .38 in size but the semi-pointed tip looks more like from a semi auto 9mm more than likely.
