Can anyone ID this bullet. I'm quite certain it has 4 rings. Sorry I don't have a scale or calipers to weigh/measure.

is this a pre CW minie?

Just off hand i would say 45 cal. Yours looks like .458 Dia. Like in a 4570.But not sure what it is.Neat find

I would say it is either a 45-70 or a wad cutter. Definitely not civil war era.

likely a post civil war...i.e. Indian War era, 45-70 likely military caliber bullet, IMO.
