In the previous post I posted a bullet and someone suggested maybe it was 44 army revolver.
Wikipedia says 1860 to 1873.
I had dug a bullet the next day that definitely hit something. I believe it is the same type bullet.
I also dug pieces of a bird, a casing, another bullet and another casing.
All this in a very small area. About the size of the living room in my small apartment. Very small area.
The other greenish patina looking bullet, I'm not sure. Any ideas?
1/4 ounce, about 8 grams
15 mm long
about 8-9 mm at the base
The bullet casing is :
38 LG COLT REM UMC
Wikipedia says this was in use from 1892 1909 for military.
Civilian use of this bullet started in 1872.
Not sure of the date of mine. Somewhere in there.
Although reading various forums and such there seems to be quite a lot to the 38 long history. But short lived.
It seems I have found a very interesting spot. Especially if these dates are correct.
Maybe the bird is also old. Hopefully I can find more of it and more bullets.
Any thoughts?
thank you,
