Found this bullet in the same yard that we have found numerous other civil war bullets, both northern and southern. Located in Atlanta

Any idea what this is? Looks like a pistol bullet of some sort. Much smaller than anything we have found.

Measured at: 8.48mm (.34) diameter and 16.26mm (.6590) length. Has some crust on it so I'm sure its not totally accurate. Thanks

Are you sure of the Dia? Nothing in "Cartridges of the World" comes close. 8mm Lebel revolver is .323 and goes to 9mm being .356. Weigh it in grains and I can look further.

That looks like it's an older but, modern bullet to me. JMO.

Hello, it would not be listed as a cartridge, a cartridge would be a bullet with a casing. It looks like a williams cleaner type musket bullet. in my opinion. : )

Thank you for the replies, I do not think I cranked the calipers down far enough for accurate measurement. Here it is re measured. Thank you.

The tiny ridges in the groove would date this bullet post 1870.
