Found these two last month in an area where riverboats used to run the lakes in Florida up until the early 1900s... Don't know if the are new or old, so I will defer to the experts...

Bullet is approx 7/16" round, 14.3g weight, Inner ring is .47 in., Diameter is .49 in., Length is .74 in. Looks like a two-part bullet as a slight seam shows. Bottom has a protrusion which almost appears to be pentagon or hexagon

Shot ball also has a seam, weighs 3.0g, .32 in. diam.

New or old?
Thanx in advance...

Last picture taken about 1 mile away close to the lake.... Some ancient cypress knees....

They both look civil war period. The first is a .32 roundball. The second looks like a .44 Johnson & Dow with the sprue still attached but if it's hexagonal or octagonal then I doubt it's a sprue. If no one ID's it before I get a chance. I'll in my bullets books and see if I can find it.

I had forgotten to mention it but I looked in my books and could not finda bullet like yours. It might well be an unlisted type or just a Johnson and Dow with the sprue. Like I said before if it's hexagonal I doubt it's a sprue.
