Any Idea? Modern or not?

I dug this at a depth of 8 inches. At first I thought maybe a 45 cal. but it is longer and narrower than a .45 ACP or .45 Colt.
In the first photo it is next to the .45 Auto and .45 Colt. I think it is modern but just not sure. Could it possibly ne a Martini Henry round?

It's a modern bullet with the ridges in the cannelure.
Possible modern 45-70

3x on the 45.70. I used to shoot hand cast bullets in my 1886 Winchester, and I think they weighed 360 grains. Military loaded a lot of 405 grain bullets. That cartridge was used by the military for years, and in fact some national guard units were still using the Springfield trap door 45-70 up to WWI. Off hand I don't know the weight of the bullets in factory loads, but with the reeded grooves, yours is a factory load from probably around 1900 or even more modern than that. I still shoot 45-70's.

I dislike stirring up the pond when the ID has been agreed to. When I first saw the photo of the bullet I thought it was a late-1800s/early-1900s version of .45-70 rifle bullet. But the finder says it is "narrower than a .45 ACP or .45 Colt." And, in the photo next to those .45 bullets, it does look smaller in diameter. If that's not an optical illusion, it might be a .40-60 Marlin Model-1881 Rifle bullet, or a .40-65 Winchester Model-1886 Rifle bullet. We need the finder to borrow a Digital Caliper and give us a precise measurement to confirm his statement that his bullet is "narrower than a .45"... and thus is not a .45-70 bullet.

TheCannonballguy, I will stick a caliper on it at work tomorrow and get some precise measurements. Thanks for the input. I will get back to you, Thanks
