Yesterday i posted a picture of a Dog Tax tag that i found at the park here in Greensboro. I also found this bullet INSIDE the hollow base of a giant tree.

Any Ideas of its age? it looks to be about the size of a 22 cal. Do modern 22 cal bullets have rings like this?
Yep you might think by my name that i would know. Fact is...Ammoman refers to hard bombs and missiles.

Thanks

yes, modern .22 but judging from the patina, it's got some age like 50 or 60 years possibly

You can't throw lead in the trash. You have to recycle it!

LOL bad choice of wording on my part. I have a place to put old bullets and sinkers and the likes. It will eventually be melted into a giant brick and be painted to look like gold!

Give it a thick layer of gold leaf and bury it in the park.....

Modern bullets we find up here are a lot of copper jacketed type. That is a very old bullet. People collect these also, it's probably 100 years old.
