Hey guys, found this at our cottage on an area of land my grandfather used to own. I would like to know what kind of type of bullet this may have been so I can determine whether it was my grandfather’s or not. The only peculiar thing is that I don’t see any markings or a primer on the bottom of it. Any contributions to this thread are appreciated. Who knows... perhaps it’s not a bullet casing at all.

Please tell us how big it is. A diameter measurement of the base would help ID it as a bullet casing or something else.

It’s about 1.25cm in diameter and about 3cm in length however it could have been longer.

I’ll say .22 seeing how it’s a rimfire, who knows

First off lets learn to express these items correctly. Is it a Cartridge casing? No such thing as a bullet casing. And to identify measurements must be in thousands of an inch. .000". So it seems it is about .492" where you measured it. (rim or where)? and about 1.25" long. Can't find any Rimfire that comes close to those measurements. Had thought .44 Henry but way too long. Do didn't say where it was found? What country or part of a country would help. Not even sure it is a cartridge casing, no firing pin mark.

My apologies on my very vague descriptions. I found this in northern ontario.
The diameter of the rim is about .500 inches
Diameter of casing is about .465
Width of rim is about .043
And length including the rim is a very sketchy 1 inch
