That flat button more of less was just a Tombac looking type button (flat button that has decoration on it) the flat button you have with no back-mark on it (manufactures name on back) is typical for 18th to early 19th century.

Well, that's not the /exact/ definition of a tombac button.
Tombac buttons get their name from the material they are made from, tombac, which is a combination of zinc and copper, like brass, except with more zinc.
This is what is commonly referred to as a "dandy" button, which just means a large coat button from the mid to late 1700s. It is not uncommon to find designs on them, ranging from simplistic like this one to remarkably detailed.

At first I thought it was a shot bullet like this one I dug the other day but I do not think it is shot? the bullet almost looks like it has a base to it on the top there! See if you can get better picture of it exactly like you have in the last photo but without the darkness on the bottom covering it up.
