this is unofficial since I am still working on those half dollars(3 boxes) which will be finished up saturday. Excluding those 3 half dollar boxes and the fact that I was away on vacation for 2 weeks(no crh) here's my totals:

$1000 Halves (2) 1942(my first), 1954, 1957, 1958d, (3) 1962, 1962d, 1963, 1964, (2) 1965, (4) 1966, (13) 1967, (22) 1968-d, (9) 1969-d, 1987-p (my first), 1996-s proof (my first)

From teller 1943-d steel penny

$500 Halves(Brinks) 1973-S, 1978-S, 2008-S, 1990-p machine doubling, 5 NIFC 02-09d
$25 Pennies 17 wheats(1920-1957-d), 4 canada(1946-1991)
$100 Nickels 1935p buffalo, 1945-s war nic??, 47 pre 1960 3 foreign, 2 canada 1 Ireland
June 22, 2011 on vacation from vending machine while buying a soda: 1964-d silver dime!
$50 Pennies 39 wheats(1919-1957d), 14 Canada(1964-2005), 1983 panama, 1993 bermuda

so for $1800 searched in June I got the following:
73 wheat pennies(oldest 1919)
2 buffalo nickels
4 war nickels
11x 90% halves
50x 40% halves
1987p half dollar
4 half dollar proofs. 1973s 1978s 1996s 2008s

All the nickels in '45 were silver alloy, so it must be. '42 is the only year they made both.

The porous surfaces make me suspect struck counterfeit.

If it's a genuine 1945 nickel, then yes it is 35% silver.

This coin... found out there is an s mintmark above the dome, but I do not know if it is counterfeir or well circulated
