Very nice buckles! Do you have a site to ID buckles? I'm surprised you are able to dig but the weather over your way is much better than ours to the east. HH, Mike

Love the buckle's folkert, great shape too..what are they made of ,any idea.?HH!!

:o WoW! :o

How do they last so long in the ground?!

Very nice!

;)

Those look older than dirt! Nice finds. Tsgman

All the buckles are made of bronze or another copper alloy.

Folkert,

Impressive finds... I am always amazed at your finds and most importantly how quickly you can date your finds. I have found buckles and it has taken me years to determine when they are from... There is no way I could find them, clean them, photograph them, research them, classify them, and post them all in the same day.

to "Bjorn_MD" but those buckles ,at least those dated from the 18th century, are really common even in France . i find such items nearly every week and i've got a hundred ones at home .some of them covered with a thin layer of gold ( those are far rarer though ..) . not really tough to date them precisely , it's just the usual .

those below are dated from the 13th - 14th century

to folkert : the first one is from the 17th or 18 th century definitely
. the second one seems to be really older than the others , i would say 5th- 10th century but not quite sure

and the last one on the pic is medieval ( 13th- 14th) .....nice i love those buckes ..

@Laurent: very impressive, your collection of medieval buckles. I counted my 18th century buckles and in 20 years of detecting I found about 800 of them. Your last find is a horse harness pendant. Here is one which I found on New Years day:
