I thought this was a belt buckle then I found another nearby are they horse related?, is there a way to date them by style?, (came from very early 1800's farm site)

I wish I could help you, but I"m also in the dark. There's plenty of people here that will assist you with all your finds. I've only been goin at it for a short while now.

Correct horse related, they changed design very little from the late 1800s to the late 1900s. Your guess is as good as mine

I find them from time to time. Sometimes you will get them complete with the spike. I like them.
