Out in the middle of nowhere found some coins and this buckle. The coins were three wheat pennies and large cent and a small cent that is thicker. I can't quite ID them now, going to try and get them cleaned. I can't wait to look some more! The day was awesome just being out but so much better finding things!!

Nice early buckle frame and tongue. Just missing the chape. Nice find! :occasion14:

Cool finds, hopefully you can find a year on that LC. I thought I was the only one that searches middle of nowhere wooded areas. That's proof that anywhere can produce keepers.

Very nice Buckle , if I recall right ,it similar to a Confederate forked tong Buckle.079.JPG

Sorry not quite the same buckle (pictured ) as I was thinking of. ..Wishbone Type is what i'm thinking. I think ???

Anyway
You got a SWEET buckle that I would love to have in my collection.

I believe it to be from 1720 - 1790...

Great find! Congratulations!

That old buckle is just plain SWEET! Love those old brass relics. Nice.:headbang:

Great looking buckle, congrats. Have you figured out the copper yet, maybe a Fatty IH?
