Buckle?

I️ believe this is a buckle however it’s fairly small and one side is connected kinda weird I️ found it at 9 inches deep in a old ball field/school found privies in the outfield and 1837 n 1864 coins I’m just curious of its age and of course to verify it’s a buckle I️ also got what I️ thought was a rusted nail but it was probably the tooth for the buckle it basically crumbled I️ also want to know it’s age as rev war troops were around here (not that I️ think it’s that old) but you never know thanks!!!

Yes, a brass buckle. The utilitarian kind and yours is 19th century, due to the crudeness. Could possibly be older. Nice find.
